A Prayer for Soulful Expansion

Sometimes the very best thing we can do is nothing at all.

Instead of pushing, striving, efforting -- instead of “making things happen” -- we need to step back and allow them to occur as they need to. 

When we are in control-mode, we are completely blocking the flow. We are getting in the way. We are messing things up that would otherwise unfold easily.

This is a lesson I’ve needed to learn again and again and again in my life. (Anyone else out there feel me on this one?...)

In the not-too-distant past, I’ll admit, my default mode was pushing to get more clients, striving to make more money, efforting to succeed feels, trying to be a “good” mom and wife, struggling to feel at peace with myself. And, it feels terrible. It sucks the joy out of not just my business, but my life in general.

But, in those lucid moments of Clarity when I am able to see the bigger picture of how things really work, I then show up with a full heart and the faith that the right opportunities, people and circumstances will unfold. And, every single time, they do.

Sure, they might not look exactly as I had pictured in my controlling ego-mind, but, most of the time, they’re even better for everyone involved. Ease galore. Hustle no more.

If you’re anything like me and too often find yourself stuck in “do” mode instead of “allow” mode, I offer you this: A Prayer for Soulful Expansion. (This prayer, if you want to call it that, has been sitting in the notes app on my phone since January. I figured it was time to share it with you :-)

Repeat these words to yourself -- silently or aloud -- and allow their TRUTH to wash over you, bring you relief and reinforce your faith that everything really is working out just as it’s supposed to for you. Always.

A Prayer for Soulful Expansion

I release my Soulful Expansion over to the all-knowing Universe.

I have Faith in my everlasting and ever-present Connection to guidance.

I Trust that if I honor the calm, steady voice within, a path of Divine Simplicity will reveal itself and lead me towards fulfillment, abundance and joy on all planes.

The dreams and visions I hold for myself were given to me -- and me alone -- for a reason. They are an integral part of my expansion, and the Universe holds them as dearly as I do.

So now, I step aside, and let Universal intelligence lead the way.

Amen. Om Shanti. Let it be so.

That’s it. Hand it off. Trust. Allow. Expand. (Repeat.)

There’s nothing you have to do. Nothing you have to “make happen”. Nothing you have to push into existence. Nothing you have to control, manipulate or manage. It’s ALL taken care of for you -- if you allow it.

My hope for you, my friend, is that you, too, begin to experiment with doing less and allowing (and enjoying!) more. 

There is unbelievable support backing you. Universal support. There is no need to figure it all out yourself. ::exhale::

The MOST Important Question to Ask Yourself About Success

You’re a big-thinker. It’s why you’re here.

You want success. So do I.

You deserve success. We all do.

You picture your success. I know you do, because I picture mine too. All the time.

For me, the BIG vision encompasses...

• A custom-designed home that my husband and I build together
• A thriving business serving MILLIONS
• Plenty of time, money & energy for family, friends, travel, new experiences, and things we love and would enjoy

Perhaps yours looks somewhat similar. Perhaps not.

So, let me share a few more nuances to really give you the flavor of my version of success.

More specifically, my success includes…

• A home yoga & meditation studio with a big picture window overlooking our sprawling backyard
• A beautiful home office with clean white walls, wide-open desk for creating, and state-of-the-art audio recording equipment (more on this in the near future ::wink wink::)
• A large kitchen with long marble-topped island and sitting area with fireplace
• Traveling for weeks-on-end to far-off places and experiencing new cultures, great food and unplugged time with loved ones
• A gorgeous virtual hub (read NEW website!) that is breathtaking & elegant and delivers Clarity to everyone who visits
• Book deal. (‘nuff said)

That’s my version of success. When I picture it, it makes me happy. Ridiculously happy. Like smiling ear-to-ear kind of happy. And, perhaps elements of it even spoke to you too.

But, success is very personal.When you start fleshing out the nuances, yours will likely look VERY different from mine. And that’s GOOD! That’s how it’s supposed to be.

There is no one version of success that is right for everyone. It varies person to person. It’s like a fingerprint. Your DNA. It’s one-of-a-kind and completely unique. As are you :-)

Yet, I see far too many women not taking the time to truly discover what success means to them. (Not to their mom, friend, sister, mentor, neighbor.)

You think success NEEDS to include a 7-figure business, a jet-setting lifestyle and luxury brands. And, for you, it may. Or it may not. There is no right or wrong.

The only thingyour version of success needs to be is totally, utterly and unapologetically yours.

It can look however you want it to and be as grand or as simple as you like.  

Your success is just that, yours.

Here’s what I’d love for you to do...

Take a minute (seriously, just 60 seconds, right now. Set your phone timer if you need to) to visualize what yoursuccess looks like. You’ll know you’re zeroing in on the right elements for you when you feel pure excitement.

Now that you’ve done that, it’s time for the MOST important question you can possibly ask yourself about your success.

It’s one that I ask all of the women I work with, and I’m going to ask it of you now:

What does success feel like?

Look underneath the income, behind the home, inside the business.

What does it FEEL like there?

Is it bold and brilliant? Quiet and contemplative? Harmonious and happy?

Does it feel like peace or love? Or excitement and adventure? Do you feel generous, prosperous or abundant -- or all three?

Mine out the feelings of your success.

Because...the journey has to align with the destination.

If for you success feels like ease, joy and abundance, you CANNOT get there by feeling rushed, worried and overwhelmed. It simply will not happen.

So, here’s the plan. Super simple.

Focus on the way success feels and do more things that make you feel that way.

What Business Are You REALLY In?

I’ve got an interesting question for you.

When I first started to consider it, it got me really excited and gave me even greater clarity about my WHY.

So, here it is for you...

What business are you really in?

At first, you might feel compelled to respond with…

“I’m a coach / entrepreneur / small business owner / creative / yoga teacher / artist / mentor”

But, I’m challenging you to unpack it more.

Get underneath all the layers.

Behind your title, under your business model, inside your brand, what’s there?

What is it that you -- and ONLY YOU -- are offering to the world?

That, my dear, is where the TRUTH of the TRUTH lies. The bud of the bud (I’m channeling e.e. cummings here, can you tell?).

That is your essence, your soul’s purpose, your reason for being on this planet.

Now, that may sound like a lot of weight to put on one little question, but I encourage you to play around with this. Allow it to draw goodness out of you as you think about it. Don’t let it weigh you down, that’s not the point!

Toss it around. Mull it over. Savor the first thought that pops into your mind.

I deliver + evoke clarity that leads to inspired action.

When that hit me, everything seemed so simple. So clear.

When everything comes back to that one kernel of truth, it simplifies the whole deal. (I love simplification, ease and CLARITY, so this felt great to me!)

It was as if I had a new lens through which to look at my business + life and everything made more sense.

If everything I do, create, say, offer, build, develop, or teach has that underlying message, I’m good. I’m on track. I’m doing it. Cool.
